4 INTRODUCTION We are all curious creatures attracted to the extraordinary. I should know; I’m one of them! As a kid, I loved leafing through encyclopedias to learn new and interesting things about our world. Even now, anything out of the ordinary has the potential to capture my attention and stimulate my thinking. Amazing facts are the spice of life! So it’s no surprise that Jesus often used people’s natural inquisitiveness as a tool for teaching them, whether through parables about nature or by recalling amazing historic events. This same idea was the basis for Amazing Facts’ first radio program, and it’s been a staple of my sermons, articles, and Bible Answers Live radio program for nearly forty years. In this first volume, I’ve collected some of my favorite illustrations—old and new—not only to pique your curiosity and entertain you, but also as a resource for exploring Bible truth.
