An Amazing Fact
Violets are a class of spring flowering plants
native to the temperate climates of the Northern
Hemisphere. There are more than 500 species
of the beautiful flower. The most common in
North America is the blue violet. Sweet violets
are known for their scent. Besides purple, violets
come in many colors, such as blue, yellow,
white, and cream. Some are bicolored,
often blue and yellow.
The heart-shaped petals of violets have
been considered a symbol of love and
loyalty. Someone once poetically
wrote, “Forgiveness is the fragrance
the violet sheds on the heel that
has crushed it.”
“Who is a God like You, who
pardons iniquity and passes
over the rebellious act of the
remnant of His possession?
He does not retain His anger
forever, because He delights in
unchanging love. He will again
have compassion on us; He will
tread our iniquities under foot.”
—Micah 7:18, 19 NASB
