Page 2 - Discovering the Source of Living Water
P. 2
Victor was convinced that this contained the keys to power and happiness in this life; he
even started a club dedicated to LaVey’s teachings.
It breaks my heart that so many like Victor are looking for satisfaction in the vilest of
places. We know that they will never find peace drinking from the poisonous fountains of
this world.
Discovering the Source
Did you know that for millennia, the source of the
Nile was a mystery? The Greeks, Romans, and even
the Egyptians had no idea! It wasn’t until 1858 that
British explorer John Speke, after a grueling expedition,
discovered Lake Victoria as the source of the river.
It reminds me of the story of Jesus and the woman
at the well. Like Victor, she too was vainly seeking for
happiness in all the wrong places. She debated with
Jesus about religion, but in His compassion, He said, “If
you knew … who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you
would have asked Him, and He would have given you living
water” (John 4:10).
You and I know that Jesus is the Living Water, but the vast majority around are still
guzzling down deadly water. They don’t know where to find the Source of life, which is
why you and I must point the way. We can lead them to Christ, the Spring of Eternal Life!
“He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of
the Lamb” (Revelation 22:1).
Even as this dark planet suffers a spiritual water crisis, through your faithfulness, God
sent Amazing Facts on a powerful mission of hope to show thousands where to find true
peace and joy, including Victor!
Miracles in Africa
Friend, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that
God was leading when one of our other meetings
was postponed and, at the same time, church
leaders in Uganda pleaded with me to do outreach
in the capital city of Kampala.
The Lord worked so many miracles on such
short notice! One of the most dramatic was how He
stopped the rain. Because of the large crowds, we
held the meetings outdoors. And—can you believe
it?—it rained virtually every day except during the
meetings. Amen!
Another blessing came through our AFCOE Africa program. Our recent graduates in
Kenya traveled to Kampala to help prepare the way for our series, doing door-to-door visits,
distributing literature, and holding their own evangelistic and health meetings.
