Shining A Beacon of Truth IN A DARK LAND
December 2018
An Amazing Fact: The Eiffel Tower in Paris is one of the most
easily recognized structures in the world. Built by Gustave Eiffel,
it originally served as the entrance for the World’s Fair in 1889.
Standing at 1,050 feet and made of 10,000 tons of iron, the tower
requires 50 tons of paint every seven years to protect it from the
elements. However, it was once scheduled to be dismantled—until
officials realized its value as a broadcast antenna and as a landmark
beacon of light for early aircraft.
Dear friend,
God has opened the door to reclaim His people in a land that once burned Bibles in the
streets! At first glance, it appears that Satan has already won his war against God’s truth in
Europe—and especially in France, the birthplace of modern atheism and where the church is
suffocating under a predominantly secular culture.
Yet the Lord never wants us to give up! Jesus said, “If I am lifted up from the earth, [I] will
draw all peoples to Myself” (John 12:32). He wants you and me to shine a beacon of truth in
one of the most spiritually dark nations on Earth. Will you join me?
Of course, the gospel needs to reach the remote pagan wilds of the world, where people
worship animals and revere witch doctors. But what about the millions of technologically
sophisticated and secular-minded—those who feel no need for religion? Doesn’t God love
these lost souls just as much?
And while 50 percent of the French call themselves Christian (83 percent of these are
nominal Catholics), the vast majority never set foot inside a church except for weddings
and funerals? More than 25 percent say they are atheist, while 40 percent say they aren’t
religious. France has even been called one of the most irreligious countries in the world.
This is no accident! It’s part of the devil’s strategy to destroy the faith of a country that
once proclaimed the true faith.
But more on that in a moment. First, I want to ask you, how can we reach secularized
souls in Europe with the three angels’ messages? Well, let me tell you about Cyril …
